Harbor Market & Kitchen
This 1940’s pre-existing, non-conforming business in the Residential and Historic District of Sag Harbor faced hurdles, including a variance from the Zoning Board of Appeals, to be renovated into what is now a state of the art commercial Kitchen and Market.
The building was completely gutted. The 1770 sq ft. first floor public area was remodeled with new windows and doors to bring in maximum light. The ceiling was raised and original beams exposed. Permitting was obtained for a new commercial kitchen, wood burning pizza oven, food prep areas, ADA compliant restroom and seating area (the built-in banquette was custom made from re-purposed wood from the building). The 2700sq ft. basement was finished and includes a Baking prep-area and ovens, general food prep areas, walk-in refrigerator, storage areas and two offices.
Overall, the useful space was more than doubled from the prior business and the neighborhood has a new gathering spot.
